Pies and Feathers

Never have i ever
understood why a feather
from the one you love
should ever mean that much
until i gave one of mine

Never have i ever
excluded a friend of mine
always bringing others together
for friendships to align
until love put my heart on a line

Flying free or deep under the sea
i wish you were there with me
All the wonders we can reach
be it high or six miles deep
you're the only wonder i hope to keep

A pearl, magical like the eyes i lose myself in
Brought us together, made us one kin
But no change can hide the beauty within
be it a scale or a feather, claw or a fin

In a different world I'd meet you sitting on a pier
watching the ocean you hold so dear
I'd dance my way through the sand
Just so i could hold your hand

Would you hold me close
or reach for me from far away
Would you warm up the night
and freshen up the day

And if i called your name
would it be in vain
or would you conquer the mountains
and scare away the rain

One little feather and few drops of spice
life is uncertain so let's roll a dice
Add a cup of sugar or the sweetest kiss
Don't waste what could be an eternal bliss
